I am new to the game but it seems we have found a bug. I am on level 4 and in the boat of S. Korea and can not pick up the fishing rod at all. I have tried reinstalling the app and am still having the same issue. We have two oculus units and on our other unit lvl 4 works fine. What could be the issue and how can I resolve it?
Hi, I have the exact same issue but on all maps. The rod stays in its stand and wont move to my hand so I can fish. The only place it seems to work is in the Tutorial. Can't fish on any of the maps anymore, I used to be able to before.
Tried re-installing and it did not work.
try grabbing it in different areas and try casting. We have found that we can make it come out by doing that. For some reason trying to grab it from the holder is not always accurately placed so if you just try grabbing in random areas you can usually get it to release. This is what we have to do in order to play and yes I have problems in other areas as well now
I will try this. It used to auto jump to your hands right? Do you actually have to touch it? I tried reaching for it and then my hand would lock on the reel but the rod stays on the ground in the holder and I can't cast like that.
I solved this one today.
First you need to see which controller is set as your "Main" controller, you can check this in the game settings, it is either right or left. It's the same controller you use to walk around with in the lodge.
Now when you are by the water use that hand to point at the base of your rod, or that black stand it is in. You will see a blue line run from your hand to the rod.
If you don't see the blue line then you aren't pointing properly so adjust your gesture until the blue line is shown and then aim the blue line at the base of the rod and press the trigger/grab button.
This only works with the "Main" movement controller hand.
The blue line needs to show and it needs to point towards the base of the rod where the reel is.
Im not sure I know how to send a video on the oculus yet, but I will try. I have found a workaround that will release the rod, but it still gets locked into position and I have to pretend the rod is in my hand and try and cast and it will sometimes release it and put it in my hand
It seems like the problem is only when the rod is in the holder that this is a problem
